Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

Thankyou Gracie /

What no straight up bebop? No Parker, Miles, Tyner, Gordon? No Mingus? No Monk? No Coltrane OMG?

Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

What no straight up kpop? No BTS (방탄소년단), iKon (아이콘), Seventeen (세븐틴), Got7 (갓세븐) ? No Blackpink (블랙핑크)? No Twice (트와이스)? No Red Velvet (레드벨벳)?

Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

Anything that was popular around 08-15, usually pitchfork-core or any buzz band like WAVVES around that time.. Punk, metal, hardcore, underground hip hop, alt-country, guess you could throw some crust punk in there. The Front Bottoms, Of Montreal, Feel like I'm forgetting a couple. (edited)

Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

Welp, I’m old. Some dude was talking about The Locust and Cap’n Jazz. I was all excited until I looked at the date.

Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

I haven't thought of The Locust in years.

They were, a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, in the good times, pre-internet, when reality mattered, it was weird then, but better than now, where nothing matters.

Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

Any music you like is moped music if you like it and ride? I love Classic Rock, Panterra, House of Pain, Black Flag, The Clash, Suicidal Tendencies, The mighty Metalica, Guns and Roses, Aerosmith, In living Color, Slayer, Sepultura, love it all, except country, just can't get into that, but some of the Female stars are hot enough I would listen...lol.

I put this thread in a playlist

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4E5HTqXsOPzYFu0Jn3lxv4?si=MMgNja6kQhGxcIjy4m_HRg

artists that are mentioned twice get two songs etc. I picked the most popular song and work my way down the list. If you mention a song I'll add that

Keep posting and I'll keep adding.

So far an interesting mix from k-pop to death metal via a lot of punk... (edited)

A lot of us seem to be into angry music, myself included. Combined with an interest in mopeds what would a psychiatrist say about this I wonder.

Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

Thanks man. Im checking it out right now.

I like to wrench to classic country like Merle Haggard, Hank Williams.

If that gets me feeling a redneck vibe, I might play David Allen Coe, and then redneck rock like Guns n Roses.

Riding is almost always Avenged Sevenfold.

Neither is a perfectly accurate picture of the music I like best or listen to most. You’d catch me in the house playing 90’s alternative rock or something like the Refreshments.

But those ^^ would be my moped music choices.

* Listening to the playlist while typing this post. Great idea and thanks again.

Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

I've been fairly into tears for fears lately. It's odd that as I'm getting older I can appreciate pretty much anything and just like alot more. When I was younger I was militantly against pop of any kind.

Also holy shot tupac was an absolute lyrical genius and poet. I went on a deep dive past week and some of that shit got me just weeping. His way of conveying feelings and emotions is on point.

Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

This playlist is awesome!!

Only one song I skipped. Halfway through; so I tried.

I've been listening to a lot of 80's-90's stuff lately. The Connells, Bodeans, Hoodoo Gurus, REM, B52s.....all good stuff.

Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

I always felt like mopeds ran to the tune of Monophonics

And since you have probably never heard of them I highly encourage you to give them a listen.

^^^^all above added. Glad you like it papa.

Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

youtube suggested this after searching for Fela Kuti a few months back, can't stop listening to it now

Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

I don’t use spotify as much as soundcloud but this is still a pretty accurate representation. Also been getting really into sematary lately which I can’t recommend enough if anyone’s into horrorcore.

Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

Once I figure out how to get my stock Maxi up to 65mph, there is only one song that will rockin’ my brain—My War by Black Flag. Henry Rollins, knows what I’m talking’ about....oh yeah

Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

Kudos to Stephen Keller who pretty much hit the nail on the head with the following statement about Winger which could be used for pretty much anything of those days not just music: "They were, a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, in the good times, pre-internet, when reality mattered, it was weird then, but better than now, where nothing matters."

At least it sure seems this way, doesn't it?

The Front Bottoms are confirmed moped jams. (I like their first two records. The others...exist.)

Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

Yeah my musical tastes go mostly over the whole board. With the acceptation of new country. Weird religious music. And butt rock like nickelback and creed. A lot of pop-punk and Hardcore: PUP, Single Mothers, Drug Church, Joyce Manor, Gouge Away, Minor Threat, Gorilla Biscuits etc. I love Jazz / Bebop: Art Blakey, Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Dave Brubeck. Also a ton of indie crap: Elliot Smith, Belle and Sebastian, Vampire Weekend, Pile, Grandaddy, Mountain Goats, etc. I get into a lot of weird Classics and Funk, and Psych, and Folk. But won’t go into those. My true music love that nobody else is really heavy on is Japanese music. Mostly hardcore and punk, Osaka style / Burning Spirits style: GAUZE, LIP Cream, Fuck on the Beach, The Stalin, King Brothers, Boris. Lighter Japanese stuff: Sachico Kanenobu, Toe, The Pillows, Suchmos, Yura Yura Teikoku, Fishmans , DYGL, Shintaro Sakamoto, Teto....I could go on way too long with this one lol.

Re: Moped Army Soundtrack

All great bands, I get into weird ruts with music a lot recently. Sometimes I'll be sitting there listening to Toad the wet Sproket for god knows what reason. My last.fm says I've listened to over 5,000+ bands, I have no idea if that's an accurate number and I probably couldn't tell anyone more than 5 bands I listen to. (edited)
