Mobylette 50V throttle and cables

So my throttle would not turn at all, and I took it all apart and now it twists and I understand the mechanism. Yeah!

However, when I try the throttle cable it only moves (pulls out a bit) with me really pulling on it with the pliers (maybe 1/4 of an inch). Is this amount of force necessary normal? If not any ideas on what's wrong and the fix?

Also if folks have a labeled diagram of the carb I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Ken

Re: Mobylette 50V throttle and cables

If there is any resistance to puling in the cable then it needs to be replaced, should be super smooth to pull and return to rest position by itself.

Depends on the reglage of the Gurtner carb, it is stamped on the fuel bowl or on the flat metal plate above the fuel bowl.

The top one with out doubt.

Re: Mobylette 50V throttle and cables

Does replacing the cable mean removing the carb. If so its probably a good idea to clean it.

Re: Mobylette 50V throttle and cables

Well I removed the carb and am cleaning it all out. Good fun.
