Yes. They’re good toilet paper dispensers.

great english chick .. gone nuts .. It’s the brexit thing .. they don’t have to let all the other EU trash in .. her boy friend must be french or Germany.. she’s giving him the old UK blow job

Re: Why do people in Southern California think their mopeds are worth so much?

yeah man.

Re: Why do people in Southern California think their mopeds are worth so much?

In LA. I sold my first 2006 tomos for 1500.

Spotless bike. Maintained. Cleaned carb. Ran like a champ. Up-jetted with a performance pipe.

It had a bullet headlight and cool bars. It was a deal for the guy. He got on it and it worked!

In 2017 I sold my Sachs 504A fox gt for 1500.

It was clean. And I had put a lit on it MLM intake. Pipe. Vm20 that I spent a lot of time tuning. I rebuilt that fucking clutch 100 times.

It ran amazing.

I feel like people don't make the small tweaks to get mopeds functioning in LA... "needs a carb clean'' is laughable

Re: Why do people in Southern California think their mopeds are worth so much?

Pushrod Fifty /

Asking prices can vary greatly for similar bikes in the same "barn find" condition on Craigslist. The reality price is the cash in hand that they see when you make an offer in person, which can be way less than half.

Do you know what a torque wrench is???

Re: Why do people in Southern California think their mopeds are worth so much?

All the people who hoard mopeds own them all now and the moped supply in the usa is drying up. Also Hipsters.

But for real, people are finally taking notice that mopeds are cool. But the thing is you can spend over 1k and just get a decent used mini moto like a grom. or a older motorcycle that runs better.

I had dozens of Enduro bikes/small displacement motorcycles go through my hands (most for very cheap) and actually owned early 100cc g3 and kaw f7 175 enduros before Moped’s, (I love small displacement single cylinder two stroke engine bikes as long as they have relatively large wheels)

The problem I stated on other posts of mine is that you can’t park a motorcycle in a bike rack, you couldn’t/it’s very hard to carry up stairs into a apartment, you couldn’t put them in the trunk of a car easy,

You have to park a motorcycle in a parking space, on the street or in a driveway which more than once someone tried to steal my small lighter motorcycles sitting out in the open

Whereas with mopeds I put in a rack right by a store front, put it on someone’s front porch Bring it in the house or apartment sometimes, bringing right into the warehouse man door chain it to a pole etc, most times keeping it within eyesight,

Insurance laws changed in my state awhile ago making every motorcycle have to have insurance on each and I don’t need to drive on the freeway so for me having a handful of mopeds is much better, I have a bad knee so I like the automatic transmission of mopeds also,

(yeah I know they make a Hondamatic automatic trans motorcycle but I worked on and rode a 400cc one and didn’t like it (For it’s heavy, only a 2 speed, you still have to do the first to second gear shift with your foot and needs more maintenance/more oil changes because the engine oil is shared with the transmission torque converter,)

It’s not a hoarding problem either, I fixed up and sold/gave away over 150 mopeds/small bikes keeping them from the scrapyard, the problem is that there are greedy people who buys really nice mint condition mopeds and then parts them out on fleecebay to make more money destroying a bike or two a day, there’s also flippers on gagslist that do nothing to a bike to repair or fix it up except for charging three or four times the price what they paid for it,

And as far as running better, a old motorcycle is not more reliable then a old Moped, after I work on them are about as reliable as each other if used how designed

But Actually some built mopeds if done correctly could produce 4-5x or more the stock horsepower and still be reliable for daily use whereas its almost impossible make a small 100-175cc motorcycle that makes 11-21hp stock hp produce 4-5x the power without it even working let alone being reliable for daily use,

Deals are around u just have to fish for them and be quick to jump on them. A a week ago tomos st 2009 with 300 milles went for 250 and two complete maxies for 100 in san Diego area, but u r correct in that most of the time people are not asking a reasonable price.

Dont matter the brand as long as its close to being accurate. Each diameter size and strength of fastener has a standard torque rating regardless of what its on. So if you cant find a particular service manual, you can just look it up on a standard thread size torque chart from the net.

Ive always thought that... buy bikes in Ohio and do a road trip to Cali. Would pay for a nice vacation!

Re: Why do people in Southern California think their mopeds are worth so much?

^^it would be much easier to just transport mopeds from east to west and vis-versa, 200 to 350 a pop.

Re: Why do people in Southern California think their mopeds are worth so much?

you can buy mopeds delivred anywhere in the US from dos and theyre cool rare bikes and less expensive than these. wtf yall doin?

Re: Why do people in Southern California think their mopeds are worth so much?

I've thought of that. Road trip and buy up every cheap moped I can find, then flood the market here.

All I need is time, money, a truck, a place to store a bunch of mopeds, more time to repair them, more money for parts, etc, etc, etc...

I just want a cheap Baretta 44 I can butcher...

Looking at those locations, the general cost of living is quite a bit higher too. Housing, food, fuel etc.

Re: Why do people in Southern California think their mopeds are worth so much?

I have an old buddy that lives in LA(Carson area), and he said it's not actually that bad with the price of living. I can't really say to much about that since I don't know, or live in LA..

Re: Why do people in Southern California think their mopeds are worth so much?

My theory is because you guys actually have nice weather to ride them all the time. Therefore driving up demand. Out here winter hits and everybody wants to sell their stuff for cheap.

Also, live in DC area. While there are some stupid prices they just end up not selling. You can find deals around here if you look hard enough.
