Puch marketing at it's best

"Neither a toy nor passing fancy" Nice!

Also true for airplanes, cheetahs, history book publishers.

Heavy Duty On Off Switch.

Had to laugh a bit there

Auto Return Throttle.

....because y'all bitched so much about last year's non returning throttle

Re: PUCH...Whats behind it is what keeps it ahead

It was a ok switch, 40+yrs ago, and considering so many were left outside, the fact that they are now falling apart says something? Also that mopeds in the USA were basically kids toys, liquor cycles, etc, and so many so often crashed, that any are around at all is impressive, just my 2 cents. In Europe and the Orient, where these were serious transportation and taken care of, they are still running today, just as are those owned by people here who took care of them. I don't think many moped manufacturers thought the bikes would be plated and ridden 40 yrs after being made, except maybe Honda. :)

They were in steep competition with the VW bug back in the day when everyone had an alternative vehicle to the big American gas guzzler.

DAMN. Funny you posted this. I was just thinking about a Puch poster I used to have up in my (now bulldozed) old workshop. It must have been from this same series. It looked similar but was kind of an exploded view of an e50 and it said

"our engines have less moving parts... so they stay moving longer."

Anyone ever see this poster or have an image of it? Really miss it. It went down with my workshop when they demolished it. (edited)

Puch’s were definitely overbuilt, very few bikes can be left on the side of a house for 40 years and made to run again with just simple work

I love that hater too, I actually had a KE100 and F7175 before I bought my first Moped,

Re: PUCH...Whats behind it is what keeps it ahead

That kawasaki ad is gold!! Kawasaki must have seen mopeds as a serious threat to their market share, and gave zero fucks about the cardinal rule, never advertise your competition in your own ad.

I think the best part from the Kawasaki ad has to be that pic of them pushing the ciao with "But a bike with pedals? We don't believe in pushing those" hahaha

So hard to pick tho, that's pure gold
