I picked this 1988 jawa 210 sport up a few days ago for 60 bucks. Looking for some parts, like a left side pedal and crank arm, and a peacock. Also looking for info on the 2 speed transmission as I know nothing about them. Thank you in advance.
These are great peds once you get to know them. Look in the wiki and use the search function. Almost all stock parts are available at The Jawa Shop. The two speed transmission can be tricky but a joy when working properly. Welcome to the forum. (edited)
Does anyone know where the shifter cable assembly would be on the 2 speed motors? I just bought a 210 but I think mine is one of the rare single speeds.
awesome buy.
you even have all the plastic side cover stuff
lots of parts on Ebay for Jawa mopeds
there is an improvement for the 2 speed
people have been putting Dellorto carbs & aftermarket pipes
on the 210. no reason to hop up a 207 one speed

Oh, OK. thought I'd missed something special for the two speed transmission. I'm still experimenting with relining clutch bits.

Good . It's how we progress . ;)
i think you can lighten the 2nd gear clutches.
makes the tranny shift sooner
get on the pipe faster
Take off the plastic cover on the left side of the motor. If the rearmost gear is welded on it's a one speed. If it's bolted on its a 2 speed. I've seen more 1 speed 210's than 2 speeds. I've actually seen 5 1 speeds and no 2 speeds
ok my tranny is definitely a single speed. I thought some idiot welded it. I didn't know they welded it like that in the factory.
I think on the pic I see a sticker 2 SPEED on the left cover?
unless P.O. used new cover it should be 2 speed under there...
top speed on both trannys is the same, one speed suffers in take offs and is slower to hills
good luck!
yup bradley posted the pic. I have a single speed on my motor though.
it is possible to make 210 one speed into two speed
most parts available on Treats
