Dellorto carb "modification"

I have a parts bike and took the carb off it to clean and use it temporarily.. when I put it on I noticed a screw drilled into it up against the plate that pushes in the choke.. i guess it works lol.. anyone ever see this before? Holds the choke in and you can tighten and loosen it.. might grind a line into it so I can use a flathead lol

Lol, super redneck way to "jet for a leak".

This is a shade tree way to richen your mix by partially covering the Venturi with the choke flap. It's a bandaid, at best.

Re: Dellorto carb "modification"

Yup totally thought so..literally only just used it because I swapped a leaking petcock over and the one I used didn't give enough gas and died on me while on a test run lol.. wont be using it.. def a bandaid type thing (edited)

Re: Dellorto carb "modification"

Why not drill that low capacity petcock so it delivers a decent amount of fuel ?

Re: Dellorto carb "modification"

On a side note.. would it be okay to use a side flow petcock as opposed to straight flow ?

Have you ever known gasoline to flow around corners ?

Why not? It flows backwards on most SHAs. It's supposed to go inside the engine, not all over the outside.

Exactly my point . Gas will easily flow around a corner or any other obstacle , for that matter , as long as there's a way around and gravity is at work . ;)

Re: Dellorto carb "modification"

Thanks.. the straight style OMG petcocks are like 9$ more than the side ones lol
