I did a small cycling apparel "business" the past few years so I'd offer you some advice - I don't think you'll find value in asking ppl what they want - it's about surprising them; that's the whole key to selling someone something they don't actually need. As for what to make, the answer is easy - make something that YOU would want to wear. Sometimes your sensibilities will be off though and nobody will get what you're trying to do.
