Re: My Peugeot Wet Dream

So im not sure if other people are having this problem but I've been breaking pipes non stop recently. The baffle mount (the part with the 3 holes) on my streetcup snapped off, so if you want peace of mind, id add some support or throw on a lighter smaller baffle. The zen baffle now works amazing after breaking 3 of the shitty doppler baffles.

That is why some pipes come with the support on the baffle. They are prone to breaking.

Re: My Peugeot Wet Dream

This post makes me really happy. I see you have already worked on french bikes, or you have a friend or some resource telling you some of the tricks. :) Keep up the good work! My friend Tim is building an SPX as well, ill have to mention this build.

Do you have plans to race it in one of the Moped GP events? Where are you at?

I cant wait to race again. If the other events arent being put on this year, I may put my own on.

Jose, I have had the same problem. I was thinking about reinforcements, but I think ill wait for it to fall off a first time.

Re: My Peugeot Wet Dream

Erich, I have that same pipe. Unfortunately I dont have the bag of hardware to mount it. Im not sure where to get it, any advice?

Re: My Peugeot Wet Dream

Thank you Shane, I havent been into mopeds for a long time. Just have some previous experience on my other bikes, I will be attending GP when I finish this thing. Im located in San Jose California.

Re: My Peugeot Wet Dream

Awesome! I have gone to LA and Sacramento 4 or 5 ? times to race. Hopefully can see you and this bike out there at the next one!

What made you go with the sport cup over the normal doppler? I see treats still has the old school style with the riveted name plate in stock.

Also - the plug in the exhaust port, my only guess is that it is installed so that it works with the "standard" 32mm exhausts, but also that you could use the circlip style race flange for G2 Open exhausts which are 38mm i think.

Hey shane, I chose the streetcup because it was a new edition from Doppler that I wanted to try and I head it was pretty good. Ive used an MVT pipe on my 103sp and it cracked over 4 times at the header, I was certain I had everything right. So I went on the french Facebook forums and they said that pipe is like glass and its pretty thin. Although it hits insaley high and hard, It helped me achieve my 67mph personal top speed record. Great pipe, but unfortunately not the best quality, also I really like the screw in balljoint onto the pipe aswell.

The past 3 days have been full of school and snid bits of time to work on the seat. Also got in some time tuning my SP.

I painted everything, but forgot to weld nuts on behind the holes. I did that but didn’t get any pics. The wood seat support gets updated to support a larger area of my skinny ass.

I still need to add 2 more support rods, but there’s how it sits, pretty sturdy. I need to figure out where to bolt the seating area down to the wood plate underneath without sitting on the head of a bolt 24/7. I have an idea, but am not sure.

Re: My Peugeot Wet Dream

Today I couldn’t help myself and started up the engine, I didn’t have a throttle cable. I just used my friend Juleons pull choke he let me and adjusted the idle speed screw. It took a while to start up, i tried to use the kickstart, but it was too stubborn. I used my chorded drill and it finally started with the choke on, i then turned it off and it ran well.... then it ran out of fuel bc I had the cock off... :) I have a video, but I cant upload it. Maybe ill post to youtube and link it later

Re: My Peugeot Wet Dream

Chorded drill? C or E flat?

Re: My Peugeot Wet Dream

So there was a vast amount of work done on this setup, threaded a steel rod and used heim joints with a nut to lock it all together at the desired length. I also reinforced the metal plate that bolts to the engine, it would bend when everything was together. I then welded on a bolt to the swingarm for the footpeg and the launch lever. Viola, finished. The lever has too much advantage over the engine spring making it was too sensitive and easy, so after some test rides, I think ill cut it shorter.

Re: My Peugeot Wet Dream

Looks a little long, and a little low. (maybe add to the rod length to the engine. I like to set mine up to be about 2 inches below my peg, so its almost flat with the peg when variated, and less than half of my boot length, as i usually have the front of my arch/ball of my foot on the peg.

Re: My Peugeot Wet Dream

Makes total sense, ill end up reworking the lever for sure!

Re: My Peugeot Wet Dream

Today I got my MIR35 box, I found the correct length belt for my setup and a few small things. I dont have a part number for the belt as the belt number was scratched off the belt, most likely because of MIR not wanting you to order from other places with the info they worked hard to find. But there is a screenshot with the title of the belt, im yet to install anything due to my calculus class. :( school first. Thanks for the view, Mitch

I got my Transval speedo from mir35 and their prices are great.

Re: My Peugeot Wet Dream

Yes, they are a very good company!

Re: My Peugeot Wet Dream

So upon review of the play, the spring was too short for the longer belt. So instead of making a new rod, the easy way Shane told me he does. I friggin cut up the mount and extend it 3/4 of an inch. The belt is exactly what the bike needs, it fits perfect.

I also reworked the lunch lever for the last time... ive gone through too many versions not make v4 perfect. I also remounted the pipe, but I dint like it, so ill fix that later.

Wait, you're saying a third party retailer took the PN off of Malossi belts so that you cannot source the belt from another retailer?

What did they figure out for the belt? Other than just putting a Malossi belt on a bike? That's whack.

Re: My Peugeot Wet Dream

Very cool build.

I’ve welded 1/8 thick 3/4 inch wide steel strapping on headers and end mount silencers and it’s kept my pipes together. Cannot fucking stand when you develop the header crack or you look back and the silencer is gone. So far I’ve never cracked or broken off any pipes with the added strapping, nor any exhaust studs so I think it’s a proven winner (edited)
