Been offered this moped, WDYT?

Dear Moped Army

I've been offered to buy this puch E50 moped for the equivalent of $1400 (a lot i know bot maxi's are popular over here and usually go for more than 1650)

According to the seller it is running and starting every time with no electrical faults and recently changed gaskets.

What do you think? what should my concerns be?

I have no experience with E50's

Kind regards

In the Netherlands one in that shape will cost you 700/800€. I personally wouldn't pay 1000€+ for a rusty old N. (edited)

Overpriced Parts /

Man even over there a entry-level puch Moped is overpriced, these prices for mopeds and parts are going crazy

Re: Been offered this moped, WDYT?

Yeah moped prices in general are going through the roof everywhere. Some of it has to do with the dirt bike craze and flippers jacking up prices even on beat up mopeds. I overpaid on what was a stock Tomos A3 Golden Bullet step thru here in Ohio (paid $850 I had talked the guy down from a grand) but was lucky that its in great shape overall except that the throttle twist grip likes to slide a bit on the right handlebar. But I really wanted an A3 so I handed over the cash and it runs strong and zero rust inside gas tank

Re: Been offered this moped, WDYT?

The suzuki was around $1450

The Peugeot was $200 i think, but it wasn't running and i have spent $300 on it now and i'm still having trouble, it will idle with choke, but wont go otherwise.

I have had a lot of trouble with my Suzuki, but there seems to be a lot of knowledge and resources online (as well as parts) for the Puch, I guess they sold more back in the day.

Anyhow thanks for the input, ride safe!

It's 2021, Ken.

The days of going to an amusement park all day for a shiny nickel are over.
