The mount matters . It what grounds the condenser and completes the circuit .

Your new condenser is likely meant for the press in type magneto plate .

Go to any decent auto parts store and pick up a condenser for external mounting .

Personally , I'd get this one from Home Depot :

Standard is a good quality product .

If you can find Bosch condensers , they are best .
