Re: A poor mans fast moby.

I did the same port job on Jay's moby as I did the first time I ported mine - more for good overall performance.

If you got some lower bars and a lower seat to get you out of the wind it would give you a lot more speed and midrange acceleration.

Thanks for the new rings it is great to have my fast bike ready

no more scootie puff for me!

Yeah the rt 28 to boston ride is a blast but I wouldnt want to do it on a slow bike.

Re: A poor mans fast moby.

Oh yea, how did the pics of the mods yesterday go?

Re: A poor mans fast moby.

As for the forks they are off of a 1980 Garelli rally sport.

The took a fair amount of work to grind off the old fender mounts and welding on the motobecane front brake mount

but otherwise they are almost a bolt on affair if you use the garrelli fender.

the beveled side of the bearing faces the con rod or

Re: A poor mans fast moby.

seems like in 08 there was the 2nd rebirth of mopeds. sad i missed it, oh well beveled on inside but u probably figured it out already, also b4 u bolt it all together get rid of that stupid lip on the av7 so u can slide the crank seals on after its all bolted together.

Yeah I remember this. He was one of moped Jay's buddys

Re: A poor mans fast moby.

I started around '08

it was a lot easier to "go 50" without GPS phone in your pockets. back then "pretty much 46" was as good as 50. I've definitely had mid-high 40's but actual 50cc 50mph, it's pretty rare. I only had one and it was totally cheating cuz it was that s6 morini thing

still, this is fun, there's definitely something fun about that level of moped, that era of moped.
