That's how it all starts little toy tractors next thing you know you're running a big fucking excavator swinging a 7 yard bucket.

My 401 climbs the hill on my back 40 like a mountain goat. I had a cub cadet as a back-up mower for awhile. It would get stuck on the level if you pissed on the grass.

With a Wheel Horse rear discharge deck, there's no need for raking, bagging, or baling the windrows. It cuts even and just leaves it lay, so there's no need for fertilizing as the grass feeds itself and keeps it nice and green.

After 55 years the fuel tank straps have broken loose from the hood, so i've got the tank strapped up with some bungee cords. That gives me an excuse to re-paint the hood this winter after i weld the straps back on to the hood.

Looks like all your buildings are leaning off to the right along with some of the trees.

Yeah if you don't have the Rim weights you can always fill the tires up with water or old antifreeze if you live where the temperatures get that low.

It’s been almost 2 years since the surgery and my shoulder still isn’t the greatest, so to make things a little easier on myself, i did this.

Re: Any Love For Vintage Garden Tractors?

That's great....but why not just add a drill start? Only shut down near the barn?

Re: Any Love For Vintage Garden Tractors?

That's a great idea.

Thanks Saab. I searched YouTube and the web trying to get ideas, but found nothing, so i just started fabbing stuff together until it worked, so now there’s at least one example on YouTube. Lol

Originally i started with one pulley and attached the pull-start handle to the frame. It worked, but it only spun the motor about one full turn. I added a second pulley on the frame and attached the end of the rope to the lever. Now it pulls a full 2 turns, and spins it much faster.

This was my original thought, which would have been ok if there was more room for a longer lever.

Re: Any Love For Vintage Garden Tractors?

I used to be a big garden tractor guy. I still got a pretty nice cub cadet 782 (red color) with all kinds of attachments. Plow, rototiller, rear lift. Thing is a tank. Has 80lb pound wheel weights on rear tires. 54 inch plow. This is a toy that has been in the shed for years that I need to pull out and sell. Have not used in 6 or so years.

Thing is an absolute beast and can push some snow.

If you like watching garden tractors and mowers get fixed, this guy is great. Lots of other cool projects too. A few mopeds, lots of VW stuff, custom board and track racers

All 4 tires on the Horse are foam filled. No flat tires ever again. The rears weigh 62 pounds a piece, and i lead-filled some vented brake rotors that weigh 26 pounds each. It’s like a mountain goat on my back 40.

I recently visited a love of my life and fellow moped enthusiast and former gun, who had picked up this Wild lil gem. Ferrari vs ford?

WOAH, look at thing.

Well, kicker pedal version 2.0

Figures i’d end up with a bad casting. Trapped gas from the foam left a weak spot at a critical area. I need new sand. It’s so foam gassed that it’s practically waterproof sand. And here i was worried that the bottom of the pedal where the rod attached would snap off.

Didn’t have time for a new casting so hacked one together from a piece of chromoly tubing, a piece of water pipe, and one of those cheap Taiwan sockets that spread like a school girl.

This one will never fail.

Re: Any Love For Vintage Garden Tractors?

I found one of those and was an hour into the journey and the guy called me and said he just sold it. I was pissed. I just remembered that I still have this gem in the weeds behind one of my shed. I was gonna make a racer out of it. This pic was taken probably 10 years ago. I wonder what she looks like now, haha. Totally forgot I had it!
