I don’t blame you ! when you were in diapers mid 70s and or before you or when most people here were in diapers I put a gmc starter motor and a 12v truck battery on a sears top tank minibike frame per popular science/mechanics/magazine design! it was a wheelie machine would go 0 to 30 in like a half a second!

On the second day after I got the bugs out of it with knife switch/throttle and actually took off pretty good and stopped pretty good with rear brake friction wheel pedal, the whole thing caught on fire and the top of the battery exploded off and made my legs itch from the acid that was thrown on my non-protected legs (wearing shorts)

I also have experience experience with electric two seat two door wedge shaped electric 70s vehicles that after you charge them all night only would go like 20 miles and they would overheat and have all kinds of problems also!

The hell with all of them!

Petroleum will be around for at least 25 years as well as I will be! Then you guys Will be in self driving no brain required electric vehicles while you’re taking selfies wishing you could do fun dangerous stuff that I used to do which included going to the pharmacy and buying all the 3 chemicals (salt peter, sulfur and charcoal) to make black powder which was legal at the time, blowing stuff up, making models and blowing stuff up, watching the ghool in Cleveland on TV, blow stuff up,

Riding and owning 60s and 70s performance cars as well 2 Cycle Enduro/dirt motorcycles,

Man to be a young person nowadays must be boring!

Re: Electric Vehicle Batteries and cold weather.

Ken, imagining a young you on a starter-motor powered mini bike makes me think of Wile E Coyote on a rocket, lighting his own fuse. You know the scene.

Can't stop laughing.

Starter motors have BU-KU TORQUE! Just getting the mounts to hold would have been a problem. HaHaaaaa! I'm ROF at ROFF!
