it's all fun and games till you realize that you actually need those websites to appear coherent.

Re: Free stuff to make you a better poster.

Coherent to who? We're mopeders, not English majors.

Re: Free stuff to make you a better poster.

I don't mind misspellings and grammar errors when theyre the result of typing quickly or omitted in the interest of speed while maintaining legibility

I also have no issue wih typos, that shit happens, sometimes its funny, usually it's easy to ignore and minimally the fault of the poster

BUT MISPLACED HOMONYMS holy shit that pisses me off. shit like peddle vs petal vs pedal or break in place of brake. Because that's not an accident, that's not being efficient, that's at BEST being obliviously stupid and wrong, or worse a willful ignorance of correctness. that's never an accident it's just dumb. fix your dumbness. get it straight.

fix your dumbness. get it straight.

I give people a pass. Its hard to know your wrong when you dont know what your doing is wrong. I see people on craigslist all the time talk about their bikes "breaks." Not worth getting upset over... plus grilling people on it doesnt improve their grammar it pisses them off.

Yes Im aware my grammar sucks. Somehow i aced College english courses but still cant write for a crap.

I am both.

There are plenty of people here who could use remedial English Classes, or maybe even just to do some reading not via a screen.

I can deal with spelling errors, but it’s the total lack of any punctuation that pisses me off. I can deal with no period at the end of a paragraph, because it’s the end of a paragraph.

But more times than not, if they don’t use punctuation, they don’t break things in to paragraphs either. Jjust one long rambling mess that you have to read over and over to make sense of it. It wastes my time.

If this happens because you are using speech to text, if you just say the word “period” at the end of your sentence, it will type a period for you. If you’re going to use it, learn how to use it.

And yeah, homonyms. Like to too and two.... come on man, really? That was like second grade.(edited)

About the only thing learned back in 4th grade English class was the forms of be!

They are is, as, was, were, be, been, being!

That’s about the only thing I learned in English class !

Re: Free stuff to make you a better poster.

Y'all got n'anglish lessen fer me? Halp pleze

Re: Free stuff to make you a better poster.

I'd rather read an almost incomprehensible pile of words than the curse words and sorry implications thrown about with better English structure.

Curse words are just substitutes, a LOT of times, for lazy or ignorant people's lack of vocabulary.

Flame on,Cussers!

Ah, so this explains your fasination with the bible. Got it.

Re: Free stuff to make you a better poster.

I dunno, sometimes its important. sometimes you gotta correct people. When it's misspellings usually their able to correct that when they need two. lack of punctuation for speedy expression in low formality formats like this, fine - you can fix that if you need to be professional.

But misplaced homonyms, unless someone corrects yew, your gonna be stuck being wrong you're hole life, know spell check will save you, your just ignorantly oblivious too being correct. It irks me I think four being sew representative of a greater collective embrace of ignorance - like sayin I don't half to care, it doesn't really matter, I can function just being dumb, I don't need too bee grammatically correct but Its not cool to not no what your talking about. And its so much worse hear.

like how are you going to talk about brakes, work on brakes, have parts break and not bother ever getting it correct? How are you going to pedal start a bike with new carbon reed petals from treats or another site that peddles moped stuff, and not bother to even care about looking like (or rather BEING) a brainless boorish twit. fix your dumbness!

Lol. Can someone here put that on a T-shirt for me?

Misspelled words can be annoying, but words that are completely missing from the sentence???? Wth? I got a word.

Proof read people.

Re: Free stuff to make you a better poster.

i was reluctant to post this, because i knew some folks would take offense. the reason i did was because i figured that wasn't actually putting anyone down. i was offering help, and my motives were good.

i understand that being arrogant about spelling and grammar is a classist move. just because i have an education doesn't mean everyone else is so fortunate. that, and it also discriminates against people with disabilities.

that's why i just posted the links, and made no commentary.
