I had a 72 superbettle it was great but the undercarriage got weak and the car would shake at certain speeds. It had tons of miles on it and little rust. I did some minor bodywork to it and touched up with paint mixed at an auto parts store. I took the plastic off of the dash and it looked like a 60's car underneath. Found some seats that were mint. The thing that sucked about driving it was that everyone knew how slow they are and just wanted pass me at the first opportunity.
If you want one, try to find one that is as original and untouched as possible because if they have have too many knockoff parts on them they really become nightmares.
