Re: If you don’t think it can happen to your family....

Nothing but love for all the moms.

I lost my mom 14 years ago in April to a stroke. Her birthday was 07 May and now it’s Mother’s Day.

I was a total momma’s boy. Used to hang out with my mom while she worked. We shared similar taste in so many things.

As I got older, and busy with life, it was easy to brush her off. She insisted when I had stuff to do, that I should go do it. I was still around for a visit many days of the week and was good to her. That didn’t stop the overwhelming feeling of guilt that weighed on me for years after her death.

Last time I spoke to her, I was at work in a truck. It was loud, late at night, and I was tired. Didn’t want to hold my cell phone so I told her I would talk to her the next day.

No matter how you feel about your mom. Whether your relationship is solid and happy or tattered and traumatic, you need to let your mom know you love her. The sacrifice of a woman to create a life (your life) deserves acknowledgement. Everything after that, which she altruistically provided for you, should earn her more than one day a year of obligatory worship.

I am so happy to hear that Momma Lar is doing better. Happy that you get to have more time. This is unfortunate, but let it be a reminder to all of you to show your moms some love.

Don’t ever miss an opportunity.

I feel bad that I cant see my Mother today, and havent for awhile, too risky with whats going on and she has a weak upper respritory system. These are bad times with alot of sacrifices made.

I’m glad your update was a good one buddy, this is some scary shit and people should hopefully continue taking it seriously. We definitely aren’t out of the woods yet, but I’m hoping for your mum’s well being and complete recovery soon :-)

Re: If you don’t think it can happen to your family....

Good to hear Lar!

Hoping for the best for your family.

Update: Looks like my mom has overcome the worst of the Covid virus, as she is no longer symptomatic. This afternoon, She is being moved to a rehab facility so that she can convalescence for the next several weeks. Once rehab is finished, she will most likely be going to a skilled care nursing facility.

Thanks for everyone’s support during this trying time for me and my family. You don’t know how much I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Be safe and don’t let your guards down!

I second this !

Re: If you don’t think it can happen to your family....

I'm glad your mom is getting better. This is a terrible virus and I know a few moms who recently passed from it. Not good

Re: If you don’t think it can happen to your family....

That’s great Lar! Hope you had an excellent Mother’s Day

Re: If you don’t think it can happen to your family....

Now is not the time, Don.

Let the man and his family heal.

Thanks guys!

My mom is now in a rehab facility and stable. She's still on light oxygen and currently taking Eloquis to prevent another blood clot.

Don, my mom was treated with Heparin for her PE blood clot and Remdesavir for her COVID symptoms. Doctors have stopped using Hydroxychloroquine and Z-pack to treat COVID.

Thanks, Larry! I' glad the Remdesivir worked. It was mentioned along with Hydroxychloroquine at the start of this thing. France is still using the Hydroxy last I heard.

Re: If you don’t think it can happen to your family....

Remdesevir is pretty promising, it knocks the recovery average from something like 17 days to only 13, which is still bad but much better and will be important in keeping hospital turnover high to keep beds free as spikes repeat. It's very good that we managed to buy the time to understand some potential treatments, I think it's important to recognize the shutdowns are already saving lives in this tragedy! Best wishes to your family, I hope everyone else stays well too.

Re: If you don’t think it can happen to your family....

I had a feeling it had to do with a little more than just being "healthy" or "unhealthy".
