Called my dad for Father’s Day

At one point, my mom said he was driving her crazy. Without missing a beat he replied, “Honey... you’re close enough to walk.”

I don’t know where that came from but it was new to me.

I love you for this.

Re: Favorite quote(s)

I regularly refer to weird coincidences as a plate of shrimp, or when pooling money on a check remark "I DO want your money... because GOD want's your money"

Or instead of let's head out dropping a "lets go do some crimes!" or "lets get sushi and not pay for it"

shuffling around my house yelling "you pick it up! you made the mess! You pick it up!" in a shrill old lady voice

the quotes in that movie are gold. it's among my all time favorites.

If you appreciate it, watch a short on youtube called Lazer ghosts 2: return to lazer cove

it's a group in the 2000s that did some low rent B movies in sortof a troma style throwback to budget 80s cult classics, They had a full length feature called manborg that's pretty OK but no contest their crowning achievement was lazerghosts.

it's a ~12min short that's presented as a trailer for a movie (that never existed) that's a sequel (to a movie that also didnt exist). It loosely tells the story as a montage of clips from the "film" and pieces together the imagined original movie too, but in that format it just focuses on ONLY the solid quotes and back to back greatness. that 12m short may in fact be my favorite movie ever.

Re: Favorite quote(s)

I say "plate of shrimp" all the time, when it fits the context. Almost no one gets it.

The dvd version of repo man had some really cool commentary, interviews with the guy who invented the neutron bomb, and an alternate ending where the bomb was in the trunk of the Malibu and blows up LA.

I met Tracey Walter (Miller) at a buddy's house down the street who was a bit part actor in tv and movies. He was joking about how everyone comes up and says "john wayne was a fag" to him all the time. Cool guy.

Also little known repo man fact. All the repo men are named after beers except Otto. Miller, Oly, Bud, and Light.

In your small mind maybe. The quote is far from implying "caution". In fact it implies recklessness, like going out into public needlessly to "walk the beach" and eating burnt steaks @ the outhouse restaurant. Also, not wearing a mask, and not even knowing where they are. Just general disregarded for others and their well being. (edited)
