Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

Found the movie Demolition Man on AMC, how much has come true, people walking around sissified, nothing is allowed, the poor forced underground, tablets were envisioned, the nanny state with everything on camera, no middle class, the only thing is we are not chipped, organically anyway, look at your phone, may as well be. Every emotion except "joy joy" is frowned on....no sex, no drugs no fun, no cool cars...... like everyone is on Lorazepam.... At least all restaurants are NOT Taco Bell! :) There are some funny one liners though... (edited)

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

Was gonna say wait till people start wearing clothes that look like couch material, but that's already happened too.

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

Ha! It's just a really weird watch so many years after it came out, saw it in the theatre..., yeah I'm old. The change in that time is absolutely astounding, I'm of an age where I clearly remember life "pre-internet" and honestly prefered it, yes a lot of progress has been made due to it, but I feel at the expense of true human interaction. I could not imagine how I would feel were I 20 yrs older, and how I will feel 20 yrs from now. It is hard to fully relate to people who have grown up with the internet as a part of their lives as much as electricity was in mine. They see life SO differently. Our biological selves were not designed to move so fast. Just my opinion. I'm going to miss gas cars if I live long enough, but only because that's what I grew up with and see as normal/right. The "new" people see things like Tesla's as normal. I'll take my f-250 and a Vanagon until they outlaw them :) I will however go electric for a two wheeler, makes all the sense in the world.

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

I remember having computers that only only green, and slighty less green colors for displays.

Internet wasnt really around in my town until high school.

Movies and super Nintendo games were rented at the local video store.

Also most people dont remember having to get a netflix in the mail lol

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

My first comp was a green screen apple IIc, there was no internet. It was a glorified word processor. I remember when there was not net flix mail or other wise, and I remember no cable tv either. It is quite a change.

Sissified, nothings allowed? Sounds kind of exaggerated for our current times, sorry. I love nostalgia but the olden days had their faults for sure, just that the mind pushes out the bad memories more so than the good. I’m ready for some mad max shit, I’ll hoard some gasoline for sure. Too bad it becomes less volatile:-/ I need an old manual trans Merc diesel.

My first tv was an old zenith with the 2 manual knobs, would get better reception by putting rubber bands to squeeze the two knobs together 🤷‍♂️ not sure why.

Also rabbit ears with the tinfoil for maximum channels lol.

Everything is way too easy now for information, information overload I think.

Kids wont know what actual freedom is and it's sad.

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

My friend craig was a producer on that movie, but I think it was kind of a no-show gig that he got paid for but was hands off

Anyway, sandra bullock in her prime automatically gets this movie 6 bags of popcorn and 3 little stones.

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

^ right?

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

But I still don't know how to use the three sea shells.....I tried in March when I couldn't get tp....messy...

Dude, your old zenith's tuner was dirty! The rubber band cantilevered the tuning shaft allow it to contact the brass tuning contacts better. Haha, I've actually ran into the rubber band trick several times.

Also, if anybody is ever looking for an old tube crt tv. Get a zenith or an rca. 90% of them I get in just fucking work. 40-60 years of sitting unplugged and they turn right on...of course after about an hour of being on the old paper caps start to go, short or leak. Then the resistors get to hot. Ya hear a pop n out go the lights. Recap takes an hour or so and then they'll run forever again no problem. With servicing of course.

Man I wish you could still buy tubes in a store...... (edited)

We ARE sissified, not to the extreme definition, but people are just expected to be shiny happy people, no matter what. Everyone just "so pleasant" That is not life for most, hence the riots etc, that movie was prophetic. They had tablets! Wtf? people wear helmets on bicycles for god's sake, we are wimps, better to "be safe" than learn how to not crash.... sigh, I saw a guy wearing a bicycle helmet walking,,,, I pulled over to ask if he needed help, thinking he had wiped out on his bicycle, maybe he was hurt? he thanked me for caring but said he just felt "safer" wearing it whenever outside......I threw up in my mouth a little....punched it and left him in my exhaust. We are circling the drain, if you are in your 20's do your potential kids a favor and don't have them. Hang on for dear life until this election cycle is over, and then and only then, consider reproducing. If Trump wins, and you are on board, (sigh) go back to whatever, if he does not and concedes peacefully, go to church, there may be a god, if the shit hits the fan in Nov between the virus and the election, I hope you are prepared, I plan to be, this November has the potential to be the most turbulent time in the history of this country. You have from now until October to eliminate debt, find an "essential" job or live off your savings if you were smart enough to compile any. I sincerely hope none of my concerns happen, but I never believed enough, thought the likes of the Chump would ever see office either, but here we are, we, the average, working class people, need to first vote, and also be prepared for the worst. Cash is king, solid assets are important, a collapse of our lifestyle is possible, not assured, but very possible, better safe than sorry. Be strong, and pay attention!

6.2 mechanical diesel, emp proof! ;)

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

Jesus, the fuckin helmet guy 🤦‍♂️.

Those who give up liberty for the illusion of safety deserve neither.

That 6.2 is also acceleration proof lol. I swapped a 12 valve into my old ford, it's been majorly modified as well. Always fun to see the look on a Porsche drivers face when you blow past them with ease.

Better start building that fall out shelter man. You got till November to dig her out and hide.

Ghost in the shell.

That's gonna be the future. The surveillance state exposed along with psy ops over tech and corruption

They refer to America as the American empire. It brings to mind people enslaved to the state for technology.

Innocently buying a new phone and plunking down 2gs. Its the start.

When the U.N. takes away our constitution and occupies the US. You can thank poor losers butthurt fossils and subversives.

The system is good if you don't muck up the whole premise.

Enjoy agenda 2030...

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

Ha! I was just mentioning this scenario is playing out. Good times.

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

Shit!

I meant to say shells

Pepilapeau said:` When the U.N. takes away our constitution and occupies the US. You can thank poor losers butthurt fossils and subversives.

This statement id dead on.

I just don't get that you guys can't see that Pelosi and Schumer types are all FOR this takeover. Shred the Constitution! That's how they roll.

Guess WHO has been defending the Constitution for nearly 4 yrs. now?

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

Neither the UN nor anyone else is going to occupy the US.

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

Had seen this a while back, not sure wtf is up with suddenly taking over a building in utah.

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

I was just saying to someone today that when I was a kid, all a boy needed was a bicycle and a BB gun.

Endless entertainment.

My kids have everything this new world has to offer and they are bored with it.

Which is reassuring. Because they love hanging out with me and doing “dad” stuff.

It’s just really sad that they have to grow up in a peer group of lame, weak, inside types that eat canned spaghetti and have their moms wiping snot bubbles off their faces.

Fuck that helmet guy.

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

^ agreed....talking to him and seeing the sincerity in his eyes that he really felt "safer" blew my mind, but there is a lot of that out there. Bike and a bb gun, THOSE were the days! :) No helmet, and still have both eyes!

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

We agreed to the U.N. charter.

If they deem the government isn't working or express civil unrest they can just like any other distressed country occupy and set up an intern government and function under U.N. mandate.

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

They could try.... ;)

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

It would be the best for everyone, we already have too many fascist dictatorships in the world.

Re: Funny/scary/prophetic, all at the same time? Open me!

♣Slew Foot♣ /

They already have U.N. troops in place. The people don't realize we already have been invaded. The Chinese have had a 1 million man army in the US for a decade. They all got visas and green cards. They are to secure the food supply. Its unthinkable till it happens its all part of agenda 2030.

One world government. One sanctioned state religion. One monetary system.

All hail the AI god. Its the next "savior of mankind". Quantum artificial intelligence will save the world then run it.

Bas the U.N. are far more fascist than trump could ever be. I am surprised no one took him out. He wasn't in the playbook.he is for states rights. He never got the polishing the other turds got. The others are just as bad if not worse. But they are PC and were instructed to act speak and have most media downplay their follies.

This^ !

Truer words were never smoked. People cower and give up their rights to the fascists in this country.

I am also surprised Trump is still around. Hate-mongering fascists/Marxists will try some day. (edited)

Earlier merc diesels were mechanical. Get a manual, u can bump start and u don’t even need a battery. Except in MN, then u need a good Frost diesel coolant heater. Ours worked incredibly last winter, granted it’s a weaker MO winter.
