1st - Stephen, bro-hug, I love you man.
2nd - Something else else that some might not be aware of, USPS does great stuff for us folks stationed abroad. I can send and receive packages and letters from my APO box at the same price as if I was in the continental US. APO to APO is Free. So, sending care packages to deployed locations cost nothing. I don’t want to think about how much it would cost to send a box of soap, deodorant, baby wipes, etc to the Middle East or Africa with UPS. Or Christmas presents from Japan to Ohio. Find out real fast how much people want to “support the troops” when it costs $300 to send a box of grandma’s cookies to them.
My personal feelings are that Americans shouldn’t have to be the “world police” anymore. I’m sick of us being the big brother that protects everyone from bullies and fixes their problems when they failed to plan ahead for natural disaster. But, we assumed that role and have been doing it for a long time now. So long as we’re stuck in these far reaching locations, I want to have the ability to send an receive physical items with my friends and family.
