Update: I’m meeting with the seller this coming Saturday morning at my mechanic’s shop. My mechanic is gonna put it up on the lift and poke around for rust in the places that rust tends to hide, including the sheet metal that the battery resides on, the heater channels, below the rear window, heater boxes and floor boards. He’s also gonna do a compression check on all the engine cylinders, with a close eye on the #3 cylinder. If it all checks out, I’ll be bringing it home on Saturday and then towing it here to VA in the spring. Fingers crossed.
