My Soviet scooter restoration project!

Christian Arapu /

Hi doods!

I thought i could upload here some pics of my restoration project!

It's a soviet scooter called Tula Tulica 200 (1983), a far descent of the german GOGO ROLLER scooter.

The pics below is the very moment i took it out from a barn it was sitting there for 2 decades!!!

I will be posting pics of the next updates, as those pics were taken almost 2 years ago, it's obvious i already have all the chrome done, all the body parts were shaped, welded, painted, and also i bought a shit load of parts from all over my country and including Russia.

I also document every step of the restoration on my YouTube channel :)

Stay tuned bois!!!

Re: My Soviet scooter restoration project!

Komrad I personally like your scoot as I love scooters especially ancient ones...But you wont get a warm welcome here as this is a vintage moped forum and most folks here do not like scooters and won't be kind or helpful. Best of luck - Love for mother Russia

Re: My Soviet scooter restoration project!

Very cool, never seen this one. It kind off looks like the Heinkel 103 a2. Is Tula a Moldovian brand?

Edit: Steve, this is off topic, you can talk about scooters all day long here. (edited)

Re: My Soviet scooter restoration project!

You are right - thought I saw general discussion and wanted to be kind before doods get salty -

Re: My Soviet scooter restoration project!

This scooter is fucking hideous! I absolutely love it, so ugly its cute. Good luck with the rebuild, I'd love to hear this thing running.

Re: My Soviet scooter restoration project!

Nevermind the scooter. Love the sheds in the background. Tell us more about those.

The shop up the street has an old Sunbury 1938. Looks like the jetsons did the styling...

I was going to say this looks very " war reparations" era soviet. Definitely a Russian restamp of some Germanic scoot. Very cool.

Re: My Soviet scooter restoration project!

jawa made some like that too, and the simson schwalbe

and there was a vespa clone too, vyatka i've seen before

Awww fuck, I just realized it's heel-toe shift too, that's sick.

Re: My Soviet scooter restoration project!

It looks SOOOOOO heavy. What a great looking bike, and a very cool thing to save. Well done, you !!!!

Hi Christian I appreciate seeing the progress of your project. I lived in a former SSR from 2017-2019 (Kyrgyzstan/Kyrgyz Republic). There were very few vintage scooters remaining(at least in our oblast); many were said to have left with the folks who departed the country after 1991. Now it is largely Chinese models, with an occasional Izh or CZ.

I will follow your post with great interest. Can you give details about your YouTube channel? Thanks in advance

Put some skidplates Like outriggers for low ended corners. Just in case it slides out..

Imagine all of it carbon fiber and the same drive train.

Hi!

Yes I agree, people not only tried to take them while leaving the country, many of them ended up at the junkyards. and very few are still left on the market,

The same situation happened in my country, soviet bikes were thrown away like trash in the early 90's, and very few are still left.

Having one means you can cobble wooden molds or plaster and make them in plastic or fiberglass. At least all the cool body panels.

ACTUALLY!

Just to let you know!

This soviet scooter will be FOR SALE after I will finish its restoration!

If any of you are interested, I am able to ship it within Europe.

I am sad to say it but I need $$ to restore my next projects!

I really want to give it to someone who will take a very good care of it.

Re: My Soviet scooter restoration project!

This should be done in old school Soviet colors and maybe even a flag.
