Hi, this is Barny from Germany

Bernhard Schmaelzle /

I just want to i trounce myself shortly.

I'm Barny from Baden/ Germany and keen on Mopeds with Sachs 504/ 505 engines since decades. Great to see that also in US there is a such a moped community.

If I can support on any technical issue or with spares from Germany please let me know.

Re: Hi, this is Barny from Germany

Welcome Barney.

I have two 1958 Hercules K100's with the Sachs 100/3 engine.

I might need some help with finding parts. :)

This is how they looked when I got them.

And after robbing parts from one for the other, this one is coming along nicely.

Re: Hi, this is Barny from Germany

If you can source the 505 2gang and 3 gang engines many here would be interested.

Sadly I sold my Sachs bike. dealing with German eBay was scary 10 years ago. I tried several times but never succeeded to import a manual 505 engine

We only received the single speed automatic engines over here. So clutch problems are common with larger displacement builds.

Wow Barney it’s been a long time!

I haven’t seen you since the 60s when you were my best friend!

This is the bike I just finished restoring .

Amazing to see the difference between before and after. Good job!

For the sachs 100/3 l'm not an expert but if you tell me what you're looking for I will try to support for sure. Just let me know

Hi Aaron and and all others,

2 and 3 speed engines or specific parts for them should be no problem. Even 2 speed for the short 504 engine or foot shifted 2speed 505 engines I have multiple sources. As well as 3and 4 layer clutches.

Only for shipping and custom clearance I would have to look for best options.

Looking forward to bring more gears to you in the US :-)
