Re: Puch TRI-RAD rear end and mags

Ahhhh. I need this. But only if I find a za50 to pair with it.

Umm, do you know if this rear end was fabricated by specialty moped corporation out of Santa Ana California? They used two labels, one foil and one pop riveted on. Also their assemblies didn't come with differentials like the one pictured. Real curious.

Re: Puch TRI-RAD rear end and mags

I am not sure. Are there any other telling signs?

Re: Puch TRI-RAD rear end and mags

Looks like the same frame I have that is also specialty mopeds but with no differential. The one you posted is a bit weird because it is not live axle like other trikes I’ve seen, looks to be a gap on the left of the sprocket so it only spins one wheel at a time. Interesting still!

Huh, I have one that looks just like yours Jack

It used to be Harold from the Creatures back in the day, and I was told it had a differential

(It doesn't matter either way, these trikes will lift a wheel over 35 no matter what)

Re: Puch TRI-RAD rear end and mags

hmmm right down the street from me....

Are those wheelie bars coming off the back of yours!?

Im tempted to offer you a Tomos revival for that set up. Thoughts?

Re: Puch TRI-RAD rear end and mags

There is a HUGE difference in handling between a dif rear end and a freewheel. Come to my house and try the Pryer, then try the Microcar and you will see that free is best!

Re: Puch TRI-RAD rear end and mags

I've had this Pryer for 2 years and have yet to make a Motron trike. Can anyone tell me if they are differential or free wheel?

I was gonna say you’re kidding me right? That’s a diff right in the middle of that pryer rear end pictured

yah its my impression on moped trike rear ends

if its got that big chunky cylinder on the axle, its got a differential

the ones without just have a straight axle

Re: Puch TRI-RAD rear end and mags

Trent, you have something rare there. INTACT FENDERS! Most were smashed by riders who misjudged the width behind them. Definitely put it to use.

Re: Puch TRI-RAD rear end and mags

I would be interested to see the revival.

I'm not the brightest bulb in the box. It's the only trike rear end I've seen up close, so I honestly had no clue.

With the social distancing over these 8 weeks, I haven't earned a dime in all that time. The wife will definitely help with the meds I take, probably pay for the land line and cell phone, but I don't even want to think about asking her for help with mopeds!

So once I get working again, I probably need a good $1000 to pay off debts before I start on a trike. I'm anxious to work on it,

Since it adds more weight to the bike, I'm wondering if I should just gear the V1 to go slower or do I kit it? I'm thinking I'll worry about kitting it later, as those Polini kits run $570 before a sale.

There she is. I bought it a couple years back and have yet to touch it. Its complete, i have the side covers laying around somewhere (they may have cracks). Currently not running, but it has compression and all the jazz. It has a NJ title. I would be willing to drive it to you if your interested in the trade. Send me a PM if your interested as i have more pics and can give more info.

To anyone else, please know this bike is not forsale.
