FS: 1983 Vespino GSA (St. Louis, MO)

$650

Runs and rides good. Freshly rebuilt motor.

-NOS crank

-new Polini top end

-variated, I way 210 pounds and it gets going quick

-stock exhaust (It would be way faster with an aftermarket pipe, these motors really respond well to an expansion chamber)

-Small broken piece of taillight lens (mostly covered by side panels)

-speedo does not work

-missing a cosmetic cover that goes o the exhaust

-lights, blinkers, horn, and kill switch all work

-10" wheels

-Has Belgium registration tags, original paper work, owners manual, and a news clipping of the classified ad the bike was bought from at some point

-Has amazing ground clearance, lowest points seems to be around 9.5".

-Has a monoshock as well as the visible rear shock

-Rare bike stateside, but shares a drivetrain with same Vespinos of the same vintage

May have some Spare parts, I need to see what can be used on another project. Just put this back together after rebuilding the motor. It is a pleasure to ride, but I have my eye on the next project.

Fuck, there's no title is there?

Re: FS: 1983 Vespino GSA (St. Louis, MO)

OMG

Re: FS: 1983 Vespino GSA (St. Louis, MO)

No, but MO doesn't title, so a bill of sale should do. Or go the Vermont route.

Also has the certificate of origin, not sure how much help it would be since it is from another country. (I would have to look and make absolutely sure its not a copy)

Re: FS: 1983 Vespino GSA (St. Louis, MO)

Just checked with gps, does 31 on the flats, pulled a steady 28 up a long hill

Re: FS: 1983 Vespino GSA (St. Louis, MO)

Damn that's a cool AF bike

I'll ad my two cents in: throw some Vespino F18 clutch springs in there and put a pipe on it for a hauler.

My Vespino F18 w/ Airsal big port, 15.15 sha and Leo Vince pulls power wheelies.

Cool bike from a cool seller.

Re: FS: 1983 Vespino GSA (St. Louis, MO)

I had a pipe on an f18 and it was really nice too. That is defiently what would wake this up I would except it to haul pretty nicely.

Re: FS: 1983 Vespino GSA (St. Louis, MO)

Droooooooool.

Re: FS: 1983 Vespino GSA (St. Louis, MO)

Not entirely hating that this hasn't sold. Thinking about hacking up a pipe to fit similar to the stock.

Re: FS: 1983 Vespino GSA (St. Louis, MO)

If someone buys it in the next hour Denver James is in town and headed to Ca, he could deliver the GSA for $350-450 more or less anywhere in the lower 48. I would sell it for $550. (He is based out of TX, delivering in the Midwest over the next few days and then heading out to CA)

If he was heading to Ohio I would buy it for sure

He may be

That's the opposite way of CA haha

Re: FS: 1983 Vespino GSA (St. Louis, MO)

He is heading to New York in November. He is super well known in the scooter community, he transports scooters all over the US all year long. I bought a bike in Texas and $350 later it was at my front door two days later. Prices vary a bit, but partially determined by how many bikes he is making on a run. Nice guy, way easier than packing onto a pallet and making arrangements. If this left earlier tonight it could have gone all the way to CA for $450 straight to a residential address.

Re: FS: 1983 Vespino GSA (St. Louis, MO)

Someone buy this! I love mine. Such a slow and silly thing.

Re: FS: 1983 Vespino GSA (St. Louis, MO)

This one has a polini kit, only goes 31mph with the stock pipe, but I would expect 38-40ish with a pipe.

Mine is bone stock, I wanna say the best GPS run I've gotten out of it was right at 28 mph, lol. I'm scared to kit it or anything because parts are such a nuisance to hunt down.

Re: FS: 1983 Vespino GSA (St. Louis, MO)

Motor parts aren't too bad to find, it is a Vespino motor. A pipe should be the number one upgrade, this has the polini top end because the stock top end was toast.

There are a few differences between the Gilera and Piaggio versions, but parts are not impossible, especially for that era. Declan, is this rotary induction or reed?

Also you can use the treats stock vespa var weights in these to tune them. Just like the ciao/grande/bravo they have a standard 5-roller var.

I'll take a running video of my mildly built F18 Vespino next time I'm in the shop.

Re: FS: 1983 Vespino GSA (St. Louis, MO)

This is the rotary intake.

Re: FS: 1983 Vespino GSA (St. Louis, MO)
