Hero Majestic (Panther?) Carb and other questions.

I recently purchased a moped for a project to learn more about mechanics. I purchased what I do know is an 04 Hero Majestic. Based off the research I have done I believe it to be a panther although I could very well be wrong.

I have a few questions that I have found very difficult to get answered in my reasearch.

1. When I bought this I knew it needed a carb, but what carb do I need?

2. As long as my pictures successfully load you will see I have three wires labeled. #1 I know is the throttle, (im not that lost, haha) #2 goes to the right hand lever below the brake. It looks as thought this leads to the carb and is the choke. Is this correct? And #3 is connected to the left hand lever below the brake. This is connected directly to the motor. What is this?

Any advice and answers are heavily appreciated. And thank you for your time.

Adam.

Seen èm at Handy Bikes with their HUGE tanks years ago. I wasn't thinking it was called the Panther(most of them are step-thru),but I can't remember the name. They are just single speeds,I believe.

Some of them came with SPACO carbs which are Dellorto clones. don-ohio (:^)

Re: Hero Majestic (Panther?) Carb and other questions.

You are correct about 1 and 2 number 3 is the decompression valve. You hold this in to make starting the motor easier.

I also have one of there and can't find out much about it.
