Can anyone please help me? How do I remove the oil level sight for cleaning?
I have stripped all the paint but need to clean the area around the sight glass.
You cant remove it without destroying it or so I found. You can replace it with non-stock parts. If you want I'll post some pictures on how I did it.
Tape it off and sand/ clean around it.

How long till it leaks and the glass is clouded.

Post 'em . Along with a narrative , so no one gets the wrong idea . ;)
The best way to go about it is don't remove it at all...

Give me a day to write it up. Can't sit for more then a minute or two at a time. My back is in bad shape today.
Someone else found and used a sight glass with gasket from a kobota tractor.
Thanks for the feedback!!!!
I know this is an old thread but just wanted to freshen a little for anyone searching for a solution to the NC50 oil level sight replacement. I bought a .79 inch fluid level sight window from J.W. Winco, inc. and will be putting it in my tank as soon as its painted. I will update the post with pics when I have them.
Please keep us updated
Jamie Namock, when I look up JW Winco sightglass it gives an option for .79 (diameter 1) or .79 (diameter 2). Do you recall which one you purchased?
Were you able to repair your sight glass? I have not pulled mine out for fear of damaging more. Unable to find a schematic. Is it just pushed in like a grommet? The ones from JW Winco look light they might be threaded. Any insight would be appreciated.
Jaime, Did it work out all right? Are the sights from Winco compatible? How does it affix to the tank? Thanks.
