Packing the muffler on a mobylette 50v

Hey!

So I was cruising down the road on my 1979 Moby 50v... All of a sudden, the humble purr of the engine turned into a snarling roar, and I heard a clank behind me. The cap of the exhaust pipe had fallen off!

I put it back on when I got home, but it still sounds rediculously loud. I'm thinking that the baffles blew out when the cap fell off... But I have no idea how to repack a Moby exhaust, and can't find any pictures online. Can anyone help me out?

You will not find just the guts.

buy a used one.

I have fiberglass packing, and all of the necessary parts. Just need a picture of a properly packed Moby exhaust to see how it all goes in

There is no "packing" in them from the factory. I think there may be a diagram in the wiki about how to open one up for more performance, it is by Rebel Moby. If it is still loud the exhaust nut on the cylinder may have worked loose, or you don't have the end-cap on right.

You need one of these repair kits from eBay.

Those smoke shifters are the best thing since sliced bread .

I never tried a left handed one , though .

seriously loosen the rear clamp & then tighten the front 1 then re-tighten the back one
