Puch Maxi dies on throttle

Hello! I've been working on a Puch Maxi for the past two months trying to get it running real good. Rebuilt the engine, replaced crank, cleaned out the carb, new pipe(old one was clogged real good), upjet to 62. Running a 50cc kit.

The only issue is that it'll die a lot. It was a struggle to get it to idle. The idle screw wasn't doing much, and I had to loosen the throttle a lot to get the slide to stay open enough for the bike to idle. Sketchy fix, but it was running pretty good for a bit. I had an issue with gas not flowing, but that was fixed through a new petcock and cleaning out the tank. But now, the bike will run ok for a bit, then it will start revving without pulling the throttle. If I pull the throttle, the bike then dies. The slide seems to open and close properly when I pull the throttle, so I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions?
