You need to be specific , in the first place .

I'm still guessing which .

I ASSUME stock , but assumptions are usually not a solid foundation .(edited)

You wrote: "U r using the vespa stock ignition with a stock flywheel and a woodruff key? Or something else ?"

And I said that the setup you described is correct, and you still need me to be more specific? Well, then I refer to 1st post where the setup is described.

Re: ‘85 Vespa Si won’t start after restoration

LOL .

I simply suggested that you be specific . in my last 2 posts .

I wrote nothing prior .

Sorry that I didn't read the whole thread and for intruding . :(

Wish I were more familiar with that pipe and if it changes anything.

Yes. Never seen or heard of it either. Treatland say it is a little upgrade from stock, and with the stock setup (12.12 carb) it should be jetted in high 50’s low 60’s. It has a 58 jet in the video posted earlier.

I went thru this same ordeal. The solution is get cylinder kit. The lower end of the piston travel (bottom end) wears down faster than the compression end. NO suction of fuel/air mix, when you put a load on the engine. I had advice from some of the best Vespa mechanics. I bought for treats the 43mm oylimpia kit with head. Note piston ARROW goes to the intake side. Torque to specs and lap the decompression valve.

Plug ngk b6hs .020 gap, points a tight ,016 gap, time at 19 degrees, new carb shim a 66 main jet on a 13/13 Dellorto Sha and a promo circuit pipe. Andy and the Zeros helped with advice, pat splat and monte. Dan double 1 was spot on about low suction. I checked ring gap, it was out of spec. use your std crank. 38 to 40mph. I used a hi flow air filter and a clutch pad upgrade on a single speed.

Are you sure about that^ ?

I've never seen that apply in any motor I've ever had apart in the last 50+ years .

The arrow has always pointed to the exhaust . Always in the direction of flow .

Pd Yes I am 110 percent sure. I even read the instructions. LOL
