APB: Hot Hobbit

Ungapped rings to bind them all /

Rising temp range on PAII DR was caused by arm on the points bowing out and opening gap from .012" to heavy .014". Bent the sides straight, gap went back to .012" and temps dropped back to the 370s on WOT runs vs 400+++. *Needs new points*. 5300 miles. B8hs, OEM carb, 90/92 summer/ winter jets, mildly ported, Proma pipe, Dos variator, Rumpus plate, 17gr, Motzing cut head, cruises low-mid 40s.

Was surprised to find the the points like that.. not holding spec, self advancing and over-heating the cylinder.. Might help someone else? Thought that's what MA is about.

I put a lot of miles on point systems . I don't recall seeing that happen prior , but , probably ... and not very often .

Re: APB: Hot Hobbit

Local I've got sets of oem pristine points . Pm me and we can settle on their value.

I know it's an older post but is 370º high? I have the same setup and mine runs 350º WOT and thought it was too hot.
