Just picked up this bitchin' General 5 star with a stock minarelli V1 and dellorto 14.12 carb. Teaching myself the ins-and-outs of all things mechanical, and since it's the smallest, I thought I'd take on the carb first. Issue is (or is it?) that, after a thorough spraying with Gumout carb cleaner and then brake cleaner (after I dried and wiped it down), I swear there's more weird residue in and on the old thing than there was to begin with. Wondering if anyone can tell me if this is normal, or if I should go about another way of cleaning this up? Just want it squeaky clean before I install it again
scaly residue in carb after cleaning?
