1980 Honda express not turning over

Like the subject says I am unable to get my express to turn over. I purchased it 4 years ago and I started every time. 2 moves later and I am unable to get it to start and if it does it won’t idle. Has a new battery and all the tubing was replaced 5 years ago by the previous owner along with the spark plug, everything else is original. honda express start with sound

Re: 1980 Honda express not turning over

Its turning over.

Its trying to start.

Wheres the air cleaner?

How old is gas in tank?

Re: 1980 Honda express not turning over

I have the original air filter case and 3 year old air filter. It was removed during the video so I could check that the fuel and oil lines were flowing. Gas tank is original.

Re: 1980 Honda express not turning over

New gas. I emptied the gas and oil last summer and cleaned out some rust and dirt. New oil in it too and the gas filter is clean. The last time I had it idling it was putting out some smoke and I was thinking that the wall between the gas and oil may have a rusted through.

Re: 1980 Honda express not turning over

" I am unable to get my express to turn over." Turning over is when the crankshaft turns and the piston goes up and down. Your motor is turning over. It sounds like it is not firing all the time.

How long did the bike sit without running? If it was more than a couple months you could have clogged carburetor jets.

Sat for over a year since the last time it ran

Re: 1980 Honda express not turning over

I could see that^^... but there is more.

If he's running the oil injector and it sat for over a year then theres a real good chance the injector leaked excessive oil into motor and its fouling the plug. He did complain about "puffing smoke".

So I ask again, is this ped still running the stock 2 stroke oil injector????

If so, remove spark plug and see if its wet with oil.(edited)
