Thanks everyone! It was the drive bearing. It wasn't seated all the way. I put a few shop rags on top of it and then used a pine 2x4 and a 4lb sledge to take about 5-6 good whacks at it. I had measured with the calipers and it moved about .5mm down into the seat. bolted the cases back together and that did the trick! Thanks again!
