Broken clamp bolt on my stock Peugeot 103 intake

Blasting around the hood yesterday and I started to bog.

I have just done a full carb clean and pipe refurb so I knew shit could vibrate loose.

I sprayed the intake with carb cleaner and the moped started to die...

Tightened the hex 10 bolt on the clamp and it twisted right off.

Was a bitch to get the end out... but some tin snips and wd40 and patience helped.

Here is what broke:

Here is the screw:

It didn't have a nut on it or anything. Am I good with hardware store parts?

Should be OK with a standard grade bolt . You might consider stepping up a grade , just because you can .

I'll get the best I can for now.

Handy chart!

Re: Broken clamp bolt on my stock Peugeot 103 intake

Got another bolt and nut (8.8)

Shredded both.

I guess I dont have the carb on the intake correct which doesn't matter as I'm about to put new reed intake and carb on..... whatever I'll look after I get it off...

I wouldn't think that bolt has to be that tight .
