Working on a ped - a quick note on importance of owning a long pin punch tool

Simon Belmont /

One of the tools not often mentioned when working on a ped is a long punch tool, owning 3/16 punch tool was very helpful in removing the pin from Tomos kick start and earlier today it aided in removing the shaft holding front wheel which was not possible to remove by hand otherwise.(edited)

No it's one of two you need. I have a 1/8" (i'm pretty sure of size) to drive chain pins from chain is one gets busted or length needs adjusted. Keep a half-link for chain also in case it's needed.

Yup you're right Don! that one is also good to have for the chain links!

I actually do have another smaller 2mm pin punch tool.

Here is a photo of what these tools look like for Pat:

^oh, to split chains i have that chain breaker, and to pop stubborn bolts out whatever i can find.

to add, this moped tool is a lifesaver.
