Gas tank pinhole leak fix

jamin townsley /

Was stoked about this project until I started soaking the tank in evaporust and found a pinhole leak at the bottom of the tank. Any best practices for repair? Or should I just throw all this hardware on a pinto frame that I have?

Pinto frame!

Re: Gas tank pinhole leak fix

Use Caswell tank sealer, it's the only good one. I kreem'd a tank cause I got the kreem for free and the pinhole was fixed for all of 2 weeks. It took me a week to prep the goddamn tank

I’d poke around the area of the pin hole with a nail. You might find that It is worse than just one pin hole. It usually is.

I had one of these on an old beat up tank. I added JB weld to it. It worked, but was ugly. No uglier that the original. I drained the tank first.
