FA50 Grounding point?

Christopher Shilling /

Hopefully some one can help. I have looked and looked and can’t find anything on where to attach the grounding wire on my ‘82 FA50. One diagram says up by the head light and one says by the battery. Does anyone know where it goes or where you have put it and it works?

Battery is new and has a fresh 10A fuse also the regulator is new. Need to have lights because I live on a military post and they require it.

Thanks in advance.

Re: FA50 Grounding point?

There should be a ground wire with a ring connector in the headlight 'bucket' .

Loosen one of the bucket mounting bolts and attach the ground , after insuring that spot is shiny clean . Don't want any rust or other type corrosion blocking the ground .

Re: FA50 Grounding point?

Do one or the other, or do both. It doesn't matter. Motorcycle electrical systems have the ground at several points for redundancy.

Agreed . More is better , in this case .
