Why cannot it be not steel ? am I missing something ?

Re: Non Magnetic Screwdriver?

Roffman: I have a problem with the grip in one of my hands and the reason for the non magnetic screwdriver is the magnets in the flywheel keep grabbing my steel driver when adjusting the points. I already have a brass feeler gauge which helps some. For me, setting the points just right is the hardest part of working on a Hobbit.

i got this problem from the shakes not really streangth but what i do is line up the flats and lean the shaft on whatever to fight the magnetism and teeter totter the tip in slowly, bamm.

What are you talking about?

If you remove the flywheel from the hobbit it leaves the points cam in place. Adjust the point without the magnets....

Re: Non Magnetic Screwdriver?

Ha Ha ^^^^ Yes

Re: Non Magnetic Screwdriver?

And if you leave the flywheel on, just use your muscles to fight against the small amount of magnetism.

You don't need a puller to remove a hobbit flywheel, it is simply held on with the crank nut and a few dimples.
