Honda Express nc50 oil bleeder -1977 specific

Tom Mitchell /

I'm rebuilding a 1977 and have found the oil pump bleeder screw is specific to this model year. Anyone know where I can get one or what the threads are so I can just plug the bleeder hole?

My 1978-80 models have a screw/plug. The only other '77 I have seen has a bleeder like on brake calipers.

Why not just use the bleeder ?

Any decent hardware store should have a thread gauge for customer use .

Why not try the newer plug from 78-80. Bet its the same thread pitch.

Maybe not , as the pumps are noticeably different . Not to mention 78 - 80 used two different pumps , so , that's a total of 3 different pumps within 4 years .

For comparison sake :

The 77 used a 12 tooth pump .

The 78 , and likely later , used a similar body pump with a 19 tooth drive and there was a different bodied 19 tooth pump , also

Tried newer plug, much too small thread. Tried a few stores so far no luck.
