Honda spree turns over won’t start

Hey guys,

My spree died on me a week ago, it would start but only when I had the throttle down.

It won’t idle,

Got a new choke for her, still no start

Put new gas in

Cleaned the carb

Now it won’t start at all, turns over but spark plug is always soaked

Tried adjusting mix screw but nothing seems to work

Any thoughts?

Make sure your float needle is not leaking by

Re: Honda spree turns over won’t start

Check the crank seal behind the belt pulley. On the sprees that seal tends to get blown out of place, especially if your on the original. Good thing is it's cheap and easy to replace.

Re: Honda spree turns over won’t start

Checked the seal it looks good, dis assembled the carb and the float needle looks good

Re: Honda spree turns over won’t start

Did you.check that you are getting spark? Your cdi.might have gone bad..

Re: Honda spree turns over won’t start

Yep I have hood spark, I think it could be something wrong with the spark timing, strong spark but the plug always comes out soaked after I they to start it

Re: Honda spree turns over won’t start

Check your petcock...it might be leaking gas into the vaccuum line..pull tge vaccuum line.off and see if it has gas in it

Off topic.

Don’t be stupid Don, it’s in Repair where it belongs. There is also a bystarter setup that can get clogged, and this is needed for more fuel on startup. But if your plug is fuel soaked, sounds like fuel is less likely to be the issue. 🤔

Could be a clogged muffler if none of the above.
