Tomos Targa Odometer Issues

I’ve got a 1995 Tomos Targa LX and the odometer occasionally works. The speedometer always works, but will read a bit faster than I’m actually going. Are some of the gears that turn the odometer stripped?

Moped odometers just look nice they never are accurate.

Speed - 5 mph what it tells you

Unless it's NJ -18mph.

Don't stress over it. Wait till it turns over then disconnect it at 0000010. So when you sell it it has ten miles on it...

Well, it take a while before that happens. The odometer either records the miles perfectly, or it doesn’t change at all.

Re: Tomos Targa Odometer Issues

Again, why moped speedos and odometers should never be taken seriously.

Most likely a default from the factory in the odometer drive gears inside the speedo housing.

But go ahead and have your bike on its center stand and spin that front wheel. Rack up all the "miles" you want on it.

Re: Tomos Targa Odometer Issues

take it apart and squirt lube all over plus compressed air.

Lube on nylon just gets lint all guummed in... Denatured alcohol. Air tool compressor just oiled with that minty Air tool oil winterblend scent the sweet smell of lube is the smell of victory or an old lifesavers in granny's purse...
