Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

Jt , what setup do you run ?

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

Overpriced Parts /

Fast take off and 48+mph top end with a 14mm bing modded hi comp head,

unported but cleaned up and ring gapped kstar 70cc

tuned 2 shoe techno circuit 17x40 gears should hit 50 after it's fully broke in

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

70cc K-star,19mm phbg carb, Boss pipe! 15x36 gearing, treats cdi. also widened the exhaust a little and made the 4 holes on the piston into two long ovals.

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

50 mph. 70cc K-Star, 21 phbg, Techno Estoril, 18x42, Treats CDI.

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

so if you cant do 50 on it you did it wrong

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

Damn my kstar 50cc will do 40-45mph

I did 50 on my KStar 50, but it took forever to get there, and was basically unrideable around the city, unless you liked being hated by motorists.

I've touched 60 on my DMP (same thing) 70, ported, 19mm PHBG, Simonini, points, geared 16x42. With a three-shoe with blue springs, it was perfectly rideable around town. THAT's the crucial difference.

Really though, if you're not doing 50 on a 45mm cylinder, you're doing it wrong.

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

Firstly you want a big carb with these cylinders, secondly you want a big pipe and all else is after that in importance.

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

47mph.

Kstar with mild porting.

17 bing.

Proma circuit.

MAD acceleration.

And thats with stock gearing and a stock clutch.

Once I get some clutch tuning done I can make the gearing a little taller.

I value acceleration over top speed.

Once I can cruise comfortably in mid forties thats all I need.

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

I am poppin on a tomos kstar on my e50 on sunday....will let you know how it compares to my polini set-up.

great lowend-mid, I love the proma pipe.

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

53.

19phbg, estoril, 16x45, mild intake porting/matching.

Lots of threads on this cylinder

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

durdan had that kstar puch kit on his tomos and hit 59 or 60 before blowing it up

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

mid 40s... 16x45 gearing, 14 bing with 76 jet needle 1st down from the top, homeot p4, hi-flow bing airfilter, hi comp head, no porting, neglected to even smooth out the ports... lots of hills in my neck of the woods and this thing can shred up hills, good acceleration. Rode it all summer long last season no problems. Hopefully it's good to me again this season. Probably gonna purchase another kstar soon.

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

weird, i have the same kit with 14 bing/high flow air filter + high comp head with a 70 jet with needle on top clip and its way too rich on the low end, pretty much unridable. perfect mid/top though. once i get past 10 or so it shreds. did you have this problem at all? phbg on the way..

Andy if your bing carb has the 2.22 atomizer, replace it with a leaner 2.17

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

right... andy, i'm using the 2.17 atomizer. also... what mix are you running?

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

Damn, ill check that out. I totally forgot about that before, my bad. Thanks

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

Oh, and my mix is around 40:1 or so. I like to eyeball things so it might not be exact but pretty close

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

i got 48mph with 70 ported, 21 phbg, proma circuit.

points, if i put cdi it could have prob wound out a little better,

but 15x45 gearing was a hill monster.

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

No porting, no polishing, Drilled out 12mm to a 16mm bing, 64 jet, anything larger was too rich, techno boss, stock clutch, 78 magnum....45 mph and wants to go faster, 16x45 gearing, I'm very impressed with this kit...I will get another one for my maxi

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

russ, not to be a dick, but a 64 jet comes stock in 14mm bings on stock cyls. so you sound a little crazy to me right now.

i got a dmp 70. it's fast.

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

i love this kit but dam are they noisy

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

I tried a 70 and a 72 jet, all it wanted to do is 4 stroke, thats why i went back to 64 it runs great, not lean at all, call me crazy all you want, oh by the way, i got the carb used, and thats the jet that was in it,, until i punched out the carb from a 12 to 15.89mm and polished the shit out of it, micrometers dont lie

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

Phil N. [MMP] /

I am hitting mid 4os, port matched, 21mm Del, Boss, 16x45. Been messing around with a 3 shoe clutch, trying to get it where I like. Slips like a mofo, but killer low end.

Re: Anyone gone fast on A 70cc k-star with E-50 ?

damn I must be doing something wrong. Mine refuses to break 42. With stock gearing it would kiss 40 went up to a 16 front and it went up to 40.xx and my 17t wont clear.
