So is the desire for a quieter moped a derivative of the ebike phenomenon? Now I have 6 loud mopeds in my collection, so I do have standing in this discussion. But I also have a host of bikes including an off road Enduro e bike. I'm looking at the new lineup of Yamaha e bikes that will go 30 mph legally and are pedal.assist so I can still stay fit. . While I do love the antiquated 1960's two stroke technology, any semblance of utility and reliability is being steadily eroded by mopeds quiet cousins. No college kid is going to buy a two stroker to get around town with the endless mcivering they require. In fact I don't even believe even gasoline powered motorcycles have any real future. And yes I know this is going to be extremely poorly received by my fellow fanatics. Please don't shoot the messenger. Younger people in urban areas basically are no longer in love with internal combustion. Yes holdouts in the red States will persist. But for where the majority of innovation in the USA is , fossil fuel lost its shine. Attack away but please keep it clean.
