Re: How to lie about the speed of your moped

make sure that you post a x top speed normally; but it did "x" on a hill in [town you went to a rally once so cant replicate] that one time

Re: How to lie about the speed of your moped

Another thing I have to stress here is if you're going to make some fake claims for bragging points you need to be aware of what a real build looks like and the signs the other person knows his craft. This person is you enemy. People knowledgeable about the subject of your fraud are very dangerous to you because you will have a hard time slipping it past them. If a noob asks you about gearing and you toss out some high gear numbets they go "ooohhh ok. Thas really cool man." But if they ballers they might say something like "wait, so your turning 16,000 rpms with 16 inch rims, what port times are you running to get that high?" Do you see how difficult it will be to walk that back? Or worse, start answering more and more detailed questions that increase in scrutiny? You want to avoid these people. If you have to, tear them down on a personal level. But never ever talk details. They can prove you're full of shit if you do that. Even better is to never acknowledge them and to tell the people who fell for it how the non-believers are the liars. Ruin their reputation, it's the only way. You need the 90% that might believe you to not also believe the real tuner or they will turn on you. Real recognizes real, meaning they recognize fakes just as fast. They are your enemy, remember that.

Worse comes to worse you can contact a notable engine builder in another country and have them build you an engine. No one will know who you got it from and you can just tell everyone you built it. It might cost you a bit of money but you're buying a legend. Might as well buy the best. And then claim you did it yourself. (edited)

Re: How to lie about the speed of your moped

One time a cop gave me a ticket for going 50 in a 30 on a Polini v1 with a stock pipe I damn well know does 38 uphill or downhill. Does this count?

I prefer a torquey 45mph ped that can rip up hills to a 60mph screamer any day. I don't want to go that fast on what's basically a bicycle frame.

Re: How to lie about the speed of your moped

Chöschi21 C.K. /

Torquey 45mph, you should try my Maxi, about 31 Top speed, it won't decellerate up a hill and i can get up a 28% road at about 21. (edited)

No! cars speedos, gps, moving clock, rode side radar

Not hard at all it’s just that all are clueless when it comes to getting jetting/air fuel mix! be off a jet or size or a needing a clip selection and your bike is a dog !

have clean clean kkkjchatting throughout the range and your bike grips

No just this stupid old slow Device and me because I didn’t proofread anything before I pressed post message too quickly, my wife was calling that dinner was ready and I was starving,

What I meant to say was car speedometer though close was not as good as roadside radar or GPS And wanted to stress like always how clean crisp jetting throughout the range is key to making power

Be off one setting or a little bit and your bike will be a dog, be perfect in jetting throughout the range and you have a perfect horsepower making machine

I use my old iPhone 4s most times that with every software update was slowed down (apple did this to save battery),

I type 3 words before first one shows up and heaven help ya if you use voice, it’s all kinds of scrambled letters or words that don’t appear until you’re done if at all so a quick post message without preview is garbled. I do like iPhone 4 small size and heavy-duty construction I wish they would come out with a new one instead of huge hand held TV’s

I always measure the speed going West and add the earth rotation speed then divide by .360. Then correlate the orbital speeds of the planet and star around the galactic core and then add 5 mph.

WOW...i didn't need my cheater specs ...

but really...don't u think cops read these ads too?

keep mopeds alive by being quiet about their abilities.

pictures are worth a thousand words,

reliability smokes cops; not speed.

slipping through the city is always the best way to get anywhere...the maze of helpful clutter enables

all of us to slip through daily crap;

Re: How to lie about the speed of your moped

kevin Smellaflange /

50 mph tops...should be enough...40ish cruzin' around all day.

that's the average happy speed for gettin' through the day...remember we don't all have disc....or tire width...

...to handle a binder lock up @ 80mph

you can't be seen on a highway anyway!

unless you're out in the desert roads...

Re: How to lie about the speed of your moped

Best way to never get caught in a lie, is to say "I sold that bike and the guy wrecked it."

No bike, no lie.

Or a classic I hear from guys that don't ride anymore; "I useta have a blah blah blah that I blah blah blah'd and it did blah blah blah uphill. But I don't waste my time with slo-peds anymore..."

Re: How to lie about the speed of your moped

40 and reliable is perfect. and by that I mean top speeds of 43 or 46 (actual ~35)

Re: How to lie about the speed of your moped

As much as I might wish to do 45+, my best memories are of riding pillion in the pouring rain up a mountain at night with the headlight out, shouting off "12... 13 miles per hour!" to my white-knuckled friend whose eyes were glued to the road for fear of losing her night vision.

to be fair even stood still aren't we doing 197000mph? that's rotational, never mind the speed we are orbiting the sun? doesn't feel like it to me. I think its lies just like the speed of some peoples mopeds.

do you think the inhabitants of mars or Jupiter lie in the same way?

im gonna ask them tonight

Re: How to lie about the speed of your moped

Love this thread!

The age old classic of; “I was going 50!” Is still my favorite.

Only in New Jersey, does every Tomos with a bi-turdo, do 60mph.

Bumping this because I’m board.

Did anyone hit 82 yet?

It's 46 here in NYC, I'll bump when it's 82.

But really: this post was so long in the making and so needed, thanks again Graham

Re: How to lie about the speed of your moped

This video has a pull (4:22) that says he tops out at 124km/h with no aero. Its no 82mph but still insane.

Ah.....no pics of the bike while riding. “I Hit 77 and my Phone was mounted to my helmet so you can’t see the bike. I had a gyro to steady the camera.” Classic (edited)
