If the pitting is in the chamber, i wouldnt see much of an issue besides faster carbon buildup. In fact Many aftermarket cylinder heads come with a "blasted" unfinished surface in the chamber. Some may argue that it can help keep the fuel charge atomised...

If its on the sealing surface though it may cause leaks.

If its on the cooling fins, its superficial and shouldnt affect anything
