I WANT IT SILENT!

Alex Hedrick /

Ok.. well me and my buddy made up this overkill silencer.. its packed. It works. But it's all the intake noise I need to kill now.. cant be to restrictive.. I know I might have to re jet.. whatever. Who should I approach this.. I have a few ideas. But let's see what you got!

HOW!! Lol

Re: I WANT IT SILENT!

Search for JBots intake silencer. He’ll probably chime in soon I’m sure.

Re: I WANT IT SILENT!

on circuit pipes i always thought alotta of noise came from thin metal/shape, wrap em w that exhaust wrap to cut noise down. clean jobbie on the extension.

Re: I WANT IT SILENT!

on the carb, its just like another exhaust.

Overpriced Parts /

Get a estroil pipe, circuits are noisy ,

I run a normal stock type intake with a Bing carburetor and have stock chain side covers over it if it’s normal bike that makes it quieter but looks you got like a jawa frame with a e50 on it so run a rear facing intake And put some kind of side cover on it

I have a vm18 on it facing forward right now. But I'm going to cut the manifold and face to towards the rear. And im in the process of making some type of air box..

It will look something like this.. but on the jawa.. and a airbox.. lol

Re: I WANT IT SILENT!

Michael Forrest /

Make the airbox so that a sound wave coming from the carb will not have direct access to the airbox intake. Otherwise the airbox will do little to lessen the noise.

Cut and welded and painted rear facing intake done..

That's amazing

Now to come up with some type of box thingy thing... lol

I like it... you could use a redbull can.. only cost ya a dime. Maybe just plum the exhaust outlet to the carb for a recirculating system. Dead quit... no place for any sound to come out.. and totally efficient!

Re: I WANT IT SILENT!

I dig that, I'll pipe the exhaust into the intake when I test the PVC baffle and it doesnt work. Drill a 1/2 inch hole in the pipe that'll pipe the intake and exhaust together so it can get the right amount of oxygen and really rip..

Yep, if you do that your Engine can Really R.I.P.

some of the i.s.d.t bikes used to suck air from under the seat...you would never hear it again.

Cool.. you could do a white castle methane injection.. ha

I'll keep that in mind!! Fuck yeah!!

Re: I WANT IT SILENT!

Run a vacuum cleaner hose to an airbox mouned elsewhere. Like the french racers do.

I've thought about tha coragated hose to a silencer mounted elsewhere. But we'll see what this does.. PVC for the win!

Re: I WANT IT SILENT!

You've got the physics all wrong.

For an airbox to silence and not restrict you need to direct the sound back into the engine. But jbot how?

Domed terminal end of chamber and right angle air tubes inserted into chamber to allow air to flow but not sound to pass.

Look at kart racing airboxes.

Every one of my bikes have a modified garbage shampoo bottle airbox and it cuts volume as much as you want. One can also turn the bottle to direct the sound in whatever direction you like. You also can adjust air flow by amount of tubes vs longer or shorter tubes to change jetting real time by changing cfm of air getting thru the carb.

JBOT how fast does that thing go? it looks amazing but you're rollin with drum brakes

Re: I WANT IT SILENT!

^ Yeah, I've always wondered.. You should get a ride video...

Re: I WANT IT SILENT!

65ish, maybe more if I geared up.

It stops fine. Drums aren't a prob if you set them up right.

1.always add sipes to the shoes.

2. Use thick cables.

Re: I WANT IT SILENT!

I did a vid but it was to show the vari-brake working. Will make ya dizzy

I will! Maybe today when I get home from work.. still need to relocate the cdi box and shit.. we'll see what happens!

That's not half bad man! I still need to play with it and see how many redbull cans it will take to make it quite..
