The starter clutches are awful. No matter how awesome you setup is as soon as you try to take off from a stop the rpms drop and bog you down for a second or so and then start climbing again.
I had removed the starter clutches on my 103 with an er3 and used a rope start plate on the flywheel. Acceleration improved a lot.
I was able to get my clutch engagement higher with ceramic balls in the clutch and two springs.
It was nice for about 50 miles and then the locking ring snapped. I reinforced it by adding two more posts to the fixed cheek of the er3 but it would still flex and cause the disc to start breaking tabs off after awhile.
I eventually put the starter clutches back in and after awhile the clutch would start locking up at stops every now and then and stall the bike out. And still slowly break apart the discs.
