I got shivers

Re: Suggestions? on modifying bk100 pipe on Tomos

Then eventually you're riding with a 1/2in piece of thin steel holding up the entire pipe, just waiting for that piece to break....dropping the whole thing to grind itself to bits on the cruel asphalt

MOPEDS!!!!

Brandon Weiss (Detective brandon to you) /

Good on you for going for it, but I now doubt that your header flange is flat and sealing against the exhaust port anymore, and you probably stretched/bent the studs putting all that leverage on them. Bending the pipe while attached only by those 2 tiny studs was not a good idea. And you started to buckle one of the chambers....

Nobody was really talking bullshit, and now some of the concerns we voiced have actually come true. So, really I think what's happening here is that you're just bad at reading a room and taking advice. "Be humble"

Re: Suggestions? on modifying bk100 pipe on Tomos

Yes be humble.

Deep breaths son,

Deep breaths.

You aren't being attacked.....yet.

But I reserve the right to attack at a later date based upon your chill factor.

Re: Suggestions? on modifying bk100 pipe on Tomos

Lol

Re: Suggestions? on modifying bk100 pipe on Tomos

That does make sense... And you know while riding you're trying to listen for everything like that... These are the type of things I do not have experience with and I need to learn this stuff from people that have had it happen to them... I will start researching I'm making something flexible for a support for the pipe?

Thinking about it it will be very tricky because it can't be too flexible.. would any type of exhaust wrap help seal anything in case something like that happened? Those are the kind of problems that can really take that smile and change it immediately... I know how serious are leaks are..

Re: Suggestions? on modifying bk100 pipe on Tomos

Again it happend... When I type up a response and hit the post button and then I check it it's completely edited and doesn't make sense... It's like there's other people controlling what I say...

I know I'm not being attacked ... I was reading some other forums last night and completely realized how bad it can get.... It's like watching an episode of Hoarders the Cockroach edition... It makes you feel better about the mess you have in your house... lol

Re: Suggestions? on modifying bk100 pipe on Tomos

Thanks for changing my comments and replies and my quotes

Re: Suggestions? on modifying bk100 pipe on Tomos

I have wrote my reply three times and it keeps disappearing... I'm not rushing my project and I had to bend my pipe to get the angle correct... Now I'm going to take it off and take photographs and show it and if I need it repaired I think it will be easier to repair now that the angle is right... I will remove my exhaust studs and replace them with new ones and put a thicker gasket on... This setup is nowhere ready to run yet.... I'm going to fabricate another intake using some old exhaust pipes.... I'm checking all my gaskets and using Indian Head sealer to make sure they're doing their job... If anyone has suggestions on finding air leaks other than using carburetor cleaner and listening for the higher revs I would appreciate it.... In the end I know it's a moped but it's my moped and I'm proud of it.... There's no way I'm leaving that mk kit sit on my shelf for the next 5 years and just talked about installing it... I'm going to file my jammer clutch shoes a little bit where the spring meets... And then double and triple check for air leaks again....

Either way I am making progress in a positive direction and it will be ready to be Ripppin on by the time spring is here.... I'm probably going to piss off a lot of neighbors and I'm sure it's going to be fun..
