Moby K10 fork brake plate

Curious how people have managed the front brake plate on these Moby - Suzuki K10 fork swaps. I could cut and shape the brake plate tab so it sits flush with the fork tab but I would still need to route/secure the brake cable appropriately.

Anyone have a picture of their set up?

Haven’t owned any Puchs, do they make a 17” wheel with a 12mm axle? Already bought all the goodies to convert this mobys cup and cone to sealed.

Yes, some are 12mm and already have sealed bearings but mostly were loose. I have wheels just send me a pm

Ah for future reference, the way I understand it, moby changed their brake/wheels around 1980 to the Leleu set up. Same wheel can be found on pugeot, Puch, etc.

I don’t have a good picture, but I slotted this tab and made a bracket to hold the brake cable.

Camera phones were a lot worse back then. (edited)

Hey thanks for the photo. I considered notching the brake plate tab like that but it didn’t look like it would leave much meat on the side subject to braking force

Re: Moby K10 fork brake plate

Maybe bend the small tab out of the way , so the big part rests against the leg tab .

Then drill a couple of holes ( one through the plate tab and one through the leg tab ) and secure the plate tab to the leg tab with a J bolt .

Ooo good idea. Bending it up would give me enough clearance on either side for a U bolt through the fork brake tab.

How did you mount the fabed brake stay? To the spot on the fork brace/fender mount? On that note, how’d the forks handle without a brace?

Got her goin with a different moby wheel. Super soft but seemingly more stable than the stock forks. Now to fit a fender and tackle this fuel foaming issue...

Re: Moby K10 fork brake plate

Good job. I love the K10 forks, I have them on a maxi. They are way heavier than stock but feel sturdier forsure. You can tune the forks stiffness by adding oil to the fork tubes. (edited)

And , by the weight of the oil .

Re: Moby K10 fork brake plate

I slugged mine for more preload on the internal springs.

What's going on with that pipe, silencer is nearly on the ground.

It’s the av7 polini super circuit. End of the baffle hangs about 2.5” from the ground at rest

Haha I haven’t scraped it yet! It’s quite a bit more tucked away when variated
