Listen to jbot... unlike me.. lol but yeah, make a thread on the subject or whatever and you'll get all the help you'll need!

Like he said. Lighten that shit up!

Re: Hobbit.... and we're off!

In fairness, that’s not a gy6 pulley.

It’s a real Honda pulley so maybe you’ll be ok.

The China gy6 pulleys are garbage and what everyone has used, but if this is actually a Honda pulley it might be fine. No one has tested this with a real Honda unit. I used a real Yamaha 2t pulley and it was better, but I didn’t have a 3rd bearing so it was fucked with vibration at full variation

Might be! Some website had it and got it to me the next day, it doesn't seem cheap quality wise.. other than the wobble is came with.. but I agree, I might have a fighting chance!

Re: Hobbit.... and we're off!

Oh wait I thought it was from a Ruckus?

If you’re not sure it is oem made by Honda I will just assume it’s china and garbage (edited)

Yeah I didn't pull it from a ruckus..

It more than likely is Chineseium! I still plan to get an oem pulley and actually machine the shaft adapter. I just jumped the gun lastnight and kinda wanted a proof of concept for myself. Then move forward and really make it up.

This should do for now and get me really close!

Re: Hobbit.... and we're off!

Yes it’ll work for awhile

They all do until they don’t

Haha I know you know..

Figured out the dimensions for the third bearing support..

Gunna turn it out of some h13 pre-hardend so it'll be really really tough and easier to turn with a good finish.

Re: Hobbit.... and we're off!

Are you gonna make the support adapter slip fit?

That’s what I did.

Yup.. I want to be able to get it out if need be..

That lip will keep it captive between the bearing and the pulley, its got about .120 gap between the two so figured make it .070 or .080.. it will probably change as I'm turning it, ya know.. lol

Re: Hobbit.... and we're off!

Third bearing support nub all done. Its a nice snug fit all around. Made out of h-13 pre-hardend. Super tough stuff yet not brittle so it should hold up no problem. Still waiting on some gy6 springs to further tune it out.

I will be gun bluing it so help seal it up.. much more to come!!

Re: Hobbit.... and we're off!

If it’s tight in there I would thread it internally to pull it for when you have to remove it. They can get stuck then it sucks to get it out to get the pulley nut off. If I’m not mistaken I think that inner gy6 bore isn’t a straight bore, mine were slightly tapered I think (edited)

I thought about that, but honestly..I just don't see tapping this material happening.. I think very hard stuff..

I checked and checked mine, its got a straight bore right out at the end where nub slips in. I did have to get in there and de-burr the rough corners from factory machining, after that it snapped right in place..

Giving it a few good spins with the wheel, no binding or anything weird lookin/sounding.. just smoothness!

I dig it...

Re: Hobbit.... and we're off!

I bet it’ll be fine

Re: Hobbit.... and we're off!

Alex Hedrick /

I was warned!! But ill just keep going.. guess I need that spring retainer thing, plus this is the cheapo spring that came on the pulley, so! Yeah..

Re: Hobbit.... and we're off!

I had one on my bike for some time. I litterly put a zip tie in each one of the holes and it held in just fine. But I hated the range it had so I tossed it for a regular one.
